Understanding Forex Rates
Foreign exchange (forex) rates represent the value of one currency relative to another. The rates shown here are ECB reference rates, published daily by the European Central Bank and widely used as benchmark rates for international trade, accounting and investment analysis. Major pairs (EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD) are the most heavily traded currencies in the world. Emerging market pairs (TRY, BRL, ZAR, INR, MXN and others) tend to be more volatile. Cross pairs — such as EUR/TRY or GBP/JPY — are calculated indirectly via USD and let you compare two non-dollar currencies directly.
Precious Metals Pricing
Gold (XAU), silver (XAG), platinum (XPT) and palladium (XPD) prices are quoted per troy ounce — the standard unit for precious metals trading. The gold price also shows per-gram and per-kilogram conversions, useful for jewelry buyers and bullion investors. These spot prices reflect the current global market rate for immediate delivery and are sourced from gold-api.com.
